Founder of Q Lim Studio
Broadway singer & actress
Hi! My name’s Gyujin, but you can call me Q ♥️
I moved to NYC in 2008 with no singing, acting, or English language skills. After just 3 years of intense study and training, I booked my first role: Luisa in THE FANTASTICKS! Soon after, I became the first Korean to play a principal role on Broadway in 15 years, with a debut opposite Kelli O’Hara and Hoon Lee in the Tony Award–winning revival of THE KING AND I. Dreams do come true!
But I need you to know that it didn’t come easily.
I grew up in South Korea, where verbal abuse is pretty standard in education. I spent so many years hearing (and believing) that I had no potential, I was already an adult when I finally found the will to try. Then when I got to the U.S., the language barrier was a monster. I know what it’s like to feel lost, hopeless, and untalented.
I also know that good tools and big dreams can set you free.
That’s why I wanted to be a teacher: my mentors gave me the strength to believe that anything is possible.
I’m certified through the Institute for Vocal Advancement and have spent over 15 years studying voice through a wide range of methods including Somatic Voicework™ (The LoVetri Method), Estill Voice Training, Bel Canto/Can Belto by Mary Saunders Barton, and neuroscience-based vocal training through The Singing Athlete.
I believe every singer deserves tools that work for their voice — not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Let’s turn your dreams into possibilities. I can’t wait to meet you!
