Cost per Performer: $129 (max 8 participants)/Auditor $60
What is this workshop about?
The dual challenge of singing and dialect work is one of the most engaging demands that an actor can face.
Training them together can be an incredible opportunity to learn new things about yourself as an actor AND as a singer.
In this workshop, Keri and Andrew will give you foundational tools to approach this task with a system in place that sets you up for long-term success.
You will then get up for an individual work session on a song that involves an accent of your choosing.
You can select from one of three categories:
1. Songs from shows that require accents (Light in the Piazza, My Fair Lady, Once on this Island)
2. Songs from shows set in non-US countries ( Les Miz, She Loves Me, Great Comet [I mean, why not sing these tunes in an accent?])
3. Spinning a song in an interesting new way (e.g., “An Old Fashioned Love Story” sung in a German accent to audition for Fraulein Kost)
As a part of your session, Keri and Andrew will give you personalized exercises to take your voice and accent proficiency to a new level.
You will leave with a concrete process that will serve as a foundation for future endeavors in both singing and dialect work.
